T-Shirt Recycling
Oh how we love those t-shirt collections. From fun-runs to college parties and concerts, we’ve got drawers and closets overflowing!
There are some great options for discarding your old Tees without losing the memories.
1. T-shirt quilts – others will make them for you if you don’t sew.
This is one from Janet Leigh Design
The company makes the quilts for those who don’t sew.
But if you can sew a straight line, you can probably make one from a kit.
Here is one kit – and you can find them at craft stores and by googling t-shirt quilt kit
2. Have a picture day! Take a photo of all of your shirts lying flat. Upload the photos to a website such as snapfish and have a collage made!
or
Take a photo of you wearing each one of your shirts. Make a photo collage, photo book, or photo album that way!
3. When you’re done, donate your shirts to charity.
Most any charity will be happy to have your gently worn shirts.
Reteez.com has a special way to recycle. The company creates products out of the used shirts, totebags and accessories. Proceeds go to children in Mozambique Africa. Each product is unique. The one seen here is from cut-up shirts that are crocheted.
