Cincinnati Judge sets up program to help hoarders

Excerpt: “‘The last thing I want to do in these cases is send someone to jail, but I have found that the threat of jail is what makes them get help,’ said Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Russell Mock, who oversees the city’s housing cases.
Mock said he set up a program with Centerpoint Health, a nonprofit behavioral health care agency that provides counseling and treatment.”

Home Sizes May Get Smaller - The move away from the McMansion

Excerpt: “Over the past three decades, the American home has ballooned from a median size of more than 1,500 square feet for houses built in 1973 to nearly 2,300 square feet for homes built last year, according to Census Bureau statistics.
But signs show that this is starting to change. With heating costs soaring and foreclosed homes dotting the suburbs of major U.S. cities, interest in a smaller, more modest lifestyle has been growing. The American Institute of Architects, in a survey of 500 residential architecture firms this year, found that one-third of those surveyed were designing smaller houses, compared with around 15 percent who said sizes were increasing.”
Get Organized to Avoid Holiday Stress
Survey done by Virtually Taken Care Of! (VTCO), a professional organizer and virtual assisting firm in Southern California and announced in their press release.
Excerpt: “…over 90 percent of the respondents said the Holidays were stressful (over half of them claiming the season was “often” stressful), the vast majority (95 percent) also said being organized would reduce their stress significantly.
The survey respondents agreed; 15 percent admitted to completely forgetting where Holiday supplies were stored and 30 percent spent money to replace lost items.”
