I certainly feel it’s important to use a contract. Its doesn’t need to be over-complicated, but it gives the sense of confidence to your client and spells out expectations. Its about professionalism.

    Good luck organizers!

I’m in my 14th year as a professional organizer, specializing in residential and small business organizing, especially with the chronically disorganized/ADD population. I have never, ever needed a contract. Ever. But then again, I live in a semi-rural area where a [wo]man’s word is considered good and deals are done on proverbial handshakes. And my clientele is a bit off-beat; I’ve been hired more than once because of the picture on my website of me feeding my chickens. My clientele likes that I’m down-to-earth. A contract would more likely alienate them than prove to be a comfort.
