Being yourself cannot be overstated. Building relationships, whether you’re networking online or in person, might feel like a slow way to get business when you’re first getting started, but is ultimately much more effective than trying to sell to people.

Never think that someone isn’t worth your time because they aren’t in your target market. Everyone knows at least 200 other people, and you just never know who will be the one to connect you to your ideal client.

Allison, thanks for telling me about this post last night. I don’t know how I missed it (must have gotten caught up in the next day’s post about the LA Organizing Awards winners!), but thank you so much for missing my January post series on the basics of organizing paper.
